Andrew's adventures with volleyball began at Assumption College where he and his friends created the school's men's and women's Club Volleyball teams in 2008. He has continued actively playing adult volleyball ever since. Andrew began coaching in 2016 at Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy where he remained for three years until he went back to graduate school. For two of those years, Andrew was a member of the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association. This is Andrew's first year coaching in a club, which has been a refreshing change with new challenges to meet. Additionally, Andrew volunteers as the commissioner for State College Volleyball, a non-profit organization that provides adult leagues for anyone in the community.

 

Andrew's education and training is in the field of mental health counseling. His coaching mindset focuses on development of the self; while it is important to develop our volleyball skills and knowledge, we must also grow in the areas of self-advocacy, self-efficacy and self-compassion. Volleyball uniquely provides opportunities for all of that growth, which is what makes coaching so rewarding.
